Ibn Al-Asghar, King of Rome asked a few questions from ruler of Syria and said that you are entitled to Khilafat after Muhammad, then answer the questions which I have asked and if you answer them I will become your follower and send you gifts. Since Muawiyah did not know the answers, he sent a person to Imam Ali (Kufa), the person asked the questions, Amir al-Momineen (A.S) said: "O person from Syria, these two are my sons so ask whatever you want to ask from any of them. He said that I would like my questions from Imam Hassan (A.S). The man from Syria said that what is the distance between the right and the wrong? And what is the distance between land and sky? What is the distance between east and west? What is Qous and Qazah? In which well do the souls of the polytheists dwell and in which well do the souls of the believers rest? What are the ten things that are tougher than each other? Imam Hassan Mujtaba (A.S) said: The distance between right and wrong is equivalent to four fingers, the distance between your eye and ear is of four fingers so whatever you see from eyes is right and whatever you hear from ears is almost wrong. The person from Syria whatever you said is true. Imam (A.S) said: The distance between the land and sky is of the prayer of the oppressor and also equal to raising and eye and seeing, whoever tells you the distance other than that ignore it. He said you spoke the truth. Imam (A.S) said that the distance between east and west is equal to one circulation of sun and the reason for that is that when the sun rises it is found in east and when it sets it becomes unobservant in the west. He said that you said the trust, what is Qaus and Qazah? Imam (A.S) said: Heck on you do not say Qous o Qazah because Qazah is the name of Satan and Qous is the name of Allah and a sign for the luxuriance of blessings and a sign for safety of people on earth from getting abstracted and the well in which souls of the polytheists dwell is called Barhoot and the well in which the souls of the believers rest is called Salmi (According to traditions Salmi, Wadi e Salam is located in Najaf and Barhoot is located in the deserts of Yemen) And the ten things that are harder than one another, the hardest thing that Allah has created is a rock, and harder than that is iron from which the stone breaks and turns into small fragments and stronger than iron is fire which melts the iron and stronger than fire is water which extinguishes it and stronger than water is cloud which carries it everywhere and stronger than cloud is air which blows the cloud everywhere and stronger than air is the Angel which operates the wind and handles the air and stronger than that Angel is the Angel of death which can take life of the Angel of wind and stronger than Angel of death is death which also comes to Angel of death and stronger than death is Allah Almighty whose command can even perish death. The man from Syria said that I testify that you are indeed the son of Prophet (P.B.U.H), and Imam Ali is more entitled for Caliphate than the Ruler of Syria.
