The importance of acquiring knowledge / the most incredible and most faithful God’s creature

Imam Zain al-'Abideen said: "If people knew what were the benefits of acquiring knowledge, they would ask for it, although for that they had to pour their blood and to have drowned in the ocean waves. Indeed, Allah revealed to Hazrat Danial (a.s) that worst servants near me are those ignorant who do not despise the rights of the scholars and don’t follow them, and indeed, near me the best slave is a helper who seeks a great reward and who is always a follower of the Islamic scholars and is a follower of noble persons, and the one who accepts the wisdom.

Scholar who don’t follow

A person appeared in the service of Imam Zain al-'Abideen and he asked for some problems with sincerity, and Imam (a.s) gave the answers, then the person went away and returned again later, so that he would ask him the same question. Imam Zain Ul Abideen (a.s) said: It is written in the Gospel (Injeel) that whatever you know but don’t follow it so does not ask about anything that you do not know. Indeed, when the scholars do not follow their knowledge, nothing increases except the distance from God.

Imam Zain al-Abideen said: "Even if all the people living between the east and west die, I will not feel annoyed by loneliness if Quran is with me."

Imam Jaffer E Sadiq narrates that Imam Zain al-'Abideen said to his son Imam Baqir: "O my lord! Do not interact with these five people and don’t talk too much to them. Imam Baqir said: Babajan! Tell me, who are those five people? You said: 1. Stay away from the liar. Because he shows the most far thing as the nearest and shows the nearest thing as the most far. 2. Avoid the company of corrupt, because he will sell you for a small bite or even for less. 3. Be careful with the shabby person, because he will stop giving his wealth at the time when you need the most in harder times. 4. Avoid the companions of the fool because he will wants to benefit you (but due to his folly) will harm you. 5. And be careful of the companion of the unmerciful, because I found his curse full in Quran at three places: 1. Surah Muhammad (Ayat 23) 2. Surah Ra’ad (Ayat 25) 3. Surah Baqrah (Ayat 27)

Abu Hamza Samali listened Imam Zain Ul Abideen saying that: There is no more beloved steps God loves that those two steps who were taking for: One step that led the believer to lead the Jihad for the sake of God, and the other step taken which was taken for the mercy and no other sip is more beloved than two sips that are: The one who drinks sorrow with patience, and the second sip is in the time of suffering, and no drops are more beloved than two drops near the Lord. One, a drop of blood which flowed for the sake of God and the second drop of tear in the night of darkness for the sake of God.

Imam Zain Ul Abideen (a.s) said: Patience has the same affiliation with faith just like the head has the affiliation with the body. Those who don’t have patience, don’t have faith.

Imam Zain Ul Abideen said: Indeed, the tongue of the man of Adam, every morning, asks every organs of the body that what is your condition? All the organs respond that if you leave us, we will be in good condition and say that fear from Allah for us, fear from Allah and say, "Indeed, we will receive reward because of you, and will get the punishment because of you."

Imam Zain al-Abideen (a.s) said: Surely the world will be driven by showing their back to you and the Hereafter is coming. You all are the sons of the world and hereafter, so become of the sons of the Hereafter, and do not become sons of the world, and be the devotee of the world and be the desirous of the Hereafter.
