What should we listen to? / Worship of God or devil worship?

قَالَ الْإِمَامُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ التَّقِیُّ الْجَوَادُ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ: مَنْ‏ أَصْغَى‏ إِلَى نَاطِقٍ فَقَدْ عَبَدَهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ النَّاطِقُ يُؤَدِّي عَنِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَقَدْ عَبَدَ اللَّهَ وَ إِنْ كَانَ النَّاطِقُ يُؤَدِّي عَنِ الشَّيْطَانِ فَقَدْ عَبَدَ الشَّيْطَانَ.

Imam Muhammad Taqi (A.S) says: Whoever listened to the person's talk attentively and paid attention to it, indeed he obeyed and worshiped him. So if the speaker is speaking from God (His talks are divine), the listener has worshiped Allah and if the speaker is speaking about evil things then the listener has worshiped the devil.

Patience / poverty / opposition to self-desires / Remembering Allah in every aspect of life

قَالَ لِلْجَوَادِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ رَجُلٌ أَوْصِنِي قَالَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ وَ تَقْبَلُ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ تَوَسَّدِ الصَّبْرَ وَ اعْتَنِقِ الْفَقْرَ وَ ارْفَضِ الشَّهَوَاتِ وَ خَالِفِ الْهَوَى وَ اعْلَمْ أَنَّكَ لَنْ تَخْلُوَ مِنْ عَيْنِ اللَّهِ فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ تَكُونُ.

Imam Muhammad Taqi (A.S) said: One person came to Muhammad Taqi (A.S) and asked for the advice, Imam (A.S) said: (If I give you my advice) will you accept it? He said yes. So Hazrat (A.S) said: "Make patience your pillow and embrace poverty. Leave the lust and oppose the desires of Nafs, and remember that you are not hidden from the eyes of Allah (Allah is watching you at all time) so you decide yourself that how you should be.

Morals

Believers always need three things / Divine guidance / advisable soul (Nafs) / acceptance of advice

قَالَ الْإِمَامُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ التَّقِیُّ الْجَوَادُ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ: الْمُؤْمِنُ‏ يَحْتَاجُ‏ إِلَى ثَلَاثِ خِصَالٍ تَوْفِيقٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَ وَاعِظٍ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ وَ قَبُولٍ مِمَّنْ يَنْصَحُهُ.

Imam Muhammad Taqi (A.S) states: Believers do need three things: 1. Divine guidance from Allah. 2. Have an advisable soul inside himself. 3. Accepting the advice of an advisor.

Enmity and love for anyone for God's sake

قَالَ الْإِمَامُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ التَّقِیُّ الْجَوَادُ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ: أَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَى بَعْضِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ أَمَّا زُهْدُكَ‏ فِي‏ الدُّنْيَا فَتَعَجُّلُكَ الرَّاحَةَ وَ أَمَّا انْقِطَاعُكَ إِلَيَّ فَتَعَزُّزُكَ بِي وَ لَكِنْ هَلْ عَادَيْتَ لِي عَدُوّاً أَوْ وَالَيْتَ لِي وَلِيّا

Imam Muhammad Taqi (A.S) states: Allah revealed a revelation to one of His Prophets that your adoption of religious devotion from the world and turning away from the world paces your luxuries and relief (in life hereafter) and focusing only on Me by turning yourself from others increases your respect and dignity in front of Me, but have you made enmity with my enemies and adopted friendship with my friends?

To complaint during problems instead of being patient.

قَالَ الْإِمَامُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ التَّقِیُّ الْجَوَادُ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ: مَنْ غَلَبَ جَزَعُهُ‏ عَلَى‏ صَبْرِهِ‏ حَبِطَ أَجْرُه‏

Imam Muhammad Taqi (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says: One who's impatience conquers his patience then all his rewards are wasted.

Morals

Delaying in repentance / Insist on doing sin / Thinking that one is under Allah's immunity despite of doing sins.

قَالَ الْإِمَامُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ التَّقِیُّ الْجَوَادُ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ:‏ تَأْخِيرُ التَّوْبَةِ اغْتِرَارٌ وَ طُولُ التَّسْوِيفِ حَيْرَةٌ وَ الِاعْتِلَالُ عَلَى اللَّهِ هَلَكَةٌ وَ الْإِصْرَارُ عَلَى الذَّنْبِ أَمْنٌ لِمَكْرِ اللَّهِ فَلا يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَ اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْقَوْمُ الْخاسِرُونَ‏

Imam Muhammad Taqi (A.S) says: delaying repentance is like getting committing a fraud and being deceived and delaying (any work) becomes the reason of astonishment and distress and reasoning and making excuses on Allah becomes a reason of extinction and insisting on sins gets against getting immunity from Allah's plot and they get satisfied from Allah's plots except for those who will bear the loses.

Displaying your affairs before they are stable

قَالَ الْإِمَامُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ التَّقِیُّ الْجَوَادُ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ: إِظْهَارُ الشَّيْ‏ءِ قَبْلَ‏ أَنْ‏ يُسْتَحْكَمَ‏ مَفْسَدَةٌ لَهُ.

Imam Muhammad Taqi (A.S) says: To disclose something before it becomes durable and stable becomes the reasons of its destruction.

Friendship and meeting of friends

قَالَ الْإِمَامُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ التَّقِیُّ الْجَوَادُ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ: مُلَاقَاةُ الْإِخْوَانِ‏ نُشْرَةٌ وَ تَلْقِيحٌ لِلْعَقْلِ‏ وَ إِنْ كَانَ نَزْراً قَلِيلا

Imam Muhammad Taqi (A.S) states: Meeting with religious brothers is like Taweez (which saves a person from evil) and causes logical skills to increase, despite the meeting happens sometimes and for a short period time

Avoid the company of bad people

قَالَ الْإِمَامُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ التَّقِیُّ الْجَوَادُ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ: إِيَّاكَ‏ وَ مُصَاحَبَةَ الشَّرِيرِ، فَإِنَّهُ كَالسَّيْفِ الْمَسْلُولِ، يَحْسُنُ مَنْظَرُهُ وَ يَقْبُحُ أَثَرُهُ.

Imam Muhammad Taqi (A.S) says: Avoid the company of evil people because that kind of person is like a naked sword that looks shinny and beautiful but its effect is very fortunate and bad

Faith and believe in Allah

قَالَ الْإِمَامُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ التَّقِیُّ الْجَوَادُ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ:‏ كَيْفَ يُضَيَّعُ مِنَ‏ اللَّهِ‏ كَافِلُهُ‏ وَ كَيْفَ يَنْجُو مِنَ اللَّهِ طَالِبُهُ وَ مَنِ انْقَطَعَ إِلَى غَيْرِ اللَّهِ وَكَلَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ.

Imam Muhammad Taqi (A.S) says: How a person can destroyed whose responsibility is taken by Allah? And how can a person escape and get who is being followed by Allah? And whoever gets inclined to someone else instead of Allah so Allah leaves him to that person
